IRVING, TEXAS (March 18, 2019) – Texican Court’s Executive Chef Patrick Hildebrandt has been named as a finalist for CultureMap’s “Rising Star Chef of the Year.” Winners will be announced at the 2019 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards party April 25 at Fashion Industry Gallery in Dallas. The category of “Rising Star Chef of the Year” celebrates emerging stars on the local dining scene, whether they’re working the line, running a kitchen, or opening their own restaurant.

“It’s an honor to be included among some of the best new chefs in Dallas-Fort Worth,” said Hildebrandt. “The menu at Two Mules Cantina is styled after the rustic cooking and great diversity of cuisine found throughout the Southwest. It comprises a fusion of bold, hearty and spicy dishes that might have been eaten by Spanish colonial settlers, cowboys, Native Americans, and Mexicans.”

Hildebrandt came to Texican Court with more than a decade of hospitality experience at venues such as Sweet Basil in Vail, Colorado, the Empty Stomach Group in San Antonio and The Hollow in Georgetown. Now he rules the roost at Two Mules Cantina, a restaurant, and bar at Texican Court, which opened in 2018 in Irving’s Las Colinas Urban Center, across from the Irving Convention Center and Toyota Music Factory.

Two Mules Cantina is open to the public for breakfast, dinner, happy hour and weekend brunch. Breakfast is served 7 – 10 a.m. daily; brunch is 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and dinner is 5 – 10 p.m. daily. Happy hour at Two Mules Cantina is 4 – 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. – midnight daily. Located in the reception area adjacent to the reflecting pool, the on-site specialty bar serves regional and rare-find tequilas along with craft cocktails. Hours are 3 – 11 p.m. daily.

Texican Court has 152 retro-inspired rooms, 3,500 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, three distinct courtyards, a circular-style pool, large wood-burning fire pits, rocking chairs, live music and more. The hotel’s design features Spanish mission-style architecture with a subtle layer of Texas, making it a unique blend of Mexican and the Lone Star State cultures.
